It’s always SO much fun buying your Christmas tree and decorating it before the Holiday, but once the gifts have been open and the needles are falling on the floor, removing and disposing of the tree does not quite have the same excitement.
Starting January 5th and running through January 31st. Wasatch Front Waste will collect Christmas trees curbside throughout the Salt Lake City area. Your tree may be picked up on any of your regular scheduled collection days during the month of January. The trees will be taken to the landfill for use in the composting program. This service is provided to residents at NO additional cost.
Please remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights and tree stands before placing trees at the curb. Trees MUST be placed on the curb, not in the street and DO NOT place trees inside your trash can.

However, if your tree can’t wait until after New Years, Salt Lake City officials suggest cutting up your tree and placing it in the tan-green waste container.
Residents of Davis County can take their Christmas trees to the County landfill at 1997 E. 3500 North, Layton.
Ogden residents can recycle their trees at the Green Waste Site, 1845 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, from January 1st to 12th.
South Ogden Public Works will recycle Christmas trees brought to a designated location by Jan. 20.
Locations are: 560 39th St. in front of the bowery on the curb; Club Heights Park parking lot; Madison Avenue Park parking lot; Friendship Park parking lot; and Meadows Park.
Residents are asked to make sure everything is removed from the tree, so it does not damage the chipper.
