    Labor Day Weekend – Antelope Island Stampede

    Labor Day is just around the corner …. Have you made plans yet?

    Starting Friday, August 30th and going to Sunday, September 1st, is the Antelope Island Stampede on Antelope Island, Davis County, near Layton, Utah.

    Friday, August 30th if the weather allows is the Balloon launch at Kaysville Ponds. However, the 7th Annual Antelope Island Stampede actually begins at 5:00 pm and all vendors and kid activities open. Enjoy kite flying and demonstrations as well as a balloon launch. Dance Doctors will play onstage at 8:00 pm.

    You won’t want to miss what’s going on Saturday …. Syracuse Run, Balloon Launch, Kite Flying, Chalk it up, Pie Eating Contest, BMX demo team and stage entertainment Two Weeks Notice and Groove Merchants.

    Sunday has kids activities, kite flying, balloon launch, more pie eating, and stage entertainment Dan Weldon and Neil Diamond Tribute Band.

    If you don’t want to participate in the Stampede, but still want to enjoy activities on Antelope Island, there is horseback riding at the Fielding Garr Ranch with an outfitter. Enjoy up to a two hour ride to see bison, pronghorn and many other animals on the Island.

    Gonzo Boat Rentals are also a fun way to spend the Holiday. However, if that is too slow for you, jet skis are also available.

    Just want to swim? Bridger Bay on the north end of the island will cool you off.

    Antelope Island Stampede will cost around $25.00 per car load and they only accept cash. Antelope Island has no internet or phone service, cash is the ticket.
