A while back, the Wall Street Journal published an article about what day of the week is best to list your home. I personally think any day that ends in “y” is a good day to list your home, but the WSJ article showed statics of which day is best to initially Market your home.
Friday’s sold for 99.1% of the original listing price and sold within 81 days. Homes marketed on Sundays could end up selling for 98.4% of their original listing price and of course take longer to sell.
Why are Fridays a more desireable day to start marketing? According to the article, people are happier on Fridays. It’s the start of the weekend, have more vitality, energy and are more proactive looking for a home.
Sundays are the start of the week and sit around for days until the next round of open houses and market sheets.
Tuesdays are great planning days and many times are days used to plan what to look at the open houses coming up on the weekend.
Homes listed on Wednesdays and Thursdays make up 70% of the homes listed on the market.
So, as I said before, any day that ends in “y” is a good day to list your home. It’s the marketing that counts and that is why you hire the professionals. Our marketing plans have proven results.
