A Little Bit of Springtime

As many of you know, Brian and I got married about a year ago. Fortunately for us blending our families and everything that goes along with it has been relatively smooth

However, about 9 months into our marriage, we recognized that there was a disconnect on our finances. Not because we were being irresponsible or overspending, but because we never connected to make a plan.
You see, both of us had our own jobs, made our own money, & had budgeted our own funds prior to getting married. Somewhere we thought ( or at least I did ) that we would combine money for household expenses and then we could spend our money how we wanted to or how we did in the past.

However, what we recognized is that without a plan, we weren’t working as a team for a solid future & common goal. At about this time, I saw a Facebook post from someone that I respect about how she and her husband took Dave Ramsay’s Financial Peace University. She mentioned that it was a game change in their relationship and how they viewed money. The couple was now teaching what they learned and they were going to teach the class at our office. I decided to sign us up. I have to admit, there was a little hesitancy on both of our parts because, right or wrong, we’ve never been one to live on a budget. However, I can tell you it has probably been one of the BEST decisions that we have made for our relationship.
Financial Peace gives you a plan for your money. Whether you make 10,000 a year or a 1,000,000 a year, it is a great way to get on the same page as your spouse & work towards a common goal. The best part for Brian and I is that we mapped out our financial future. We now meet monthly and go over the prior months budget. We then plan where our money is going that next month. We no longer have the unknown on where our money is going & we are working as a team to build our future.
If one of your goals for 2016 is to get on a budget, map out a plan to pay off your home, learn how to pay off debt, or simply get on the same page as your spouse when it comes to spending, then this course is for you. The classes are offered throughout the Wasatch Front as well as online. Check it out online @ or message me and I would be happy to get you additional information.

P.s.. Did you know that the average person that follows the Financial Peace plan pays off their home in 7 years. I know for most of you that would be a dream come true! 2016 is your year. Make it happen and let me know what I can do to assist you in making your goals a reality.
